Rachel Knudson is a Biblical, Christ-centered counselor who strives to elevate God’s Word above all else—both personally and professionally. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah.
Rachel earned her Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies from Phoenix Career College and her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix. She later received her Master’s in Christian Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
Rachel has extensive experience serving both adults and adolescents in behavioral health settings. She has had the privilege of working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, addiction, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem and body image concerns, and traumatic brain injuries.
She also has specialized experience working with adolescent victims of human trafficking—primarily sex trafficking—offering trauma-informed, faith-grounded support focused on restoration, safety, and identity in Christ.
Additionally, Rachel works with individuals involved in the criminal justice system, including those with sexual offense histories.
Through Scarlet Cord Counseling and the King's Table Behavioral Health as well as partnerships with various other programs, Rachel provides counseling to adults in behavioral health facilities and in the community, with a focus on addiction recovery, trauma healing, and court-ordered or probation/parole-directed services. Her therapeutic goal is to walk alongside each person entrusted to her care—to honor the past, pursue healing in the present, and build a hopeful future.
Rachel is certified as a trauma therapist through the Trauma Institute International and is a certified sex offender treatment provider. Her clinical approach is eclectic and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and feedback-informed treatment.
Rachel believes that the past does not define us. Through the redemptive blood of Christ, every person is worthy of healing, restoration, and a renewed identity in Him.
